Behind World Series of Poker

It is indeed the busy months once again for both ESPN and poker fans as the WSOP continues to air every Tuesday nights at the said cable network. The show will continue to run each week until the final table showdown on November 10, and poker fans are given the chance to learn strategies and poker lessons.
Until then, players are given clips of the WSOP with players playing exciting poker hands with big piles of chips in front of them, but there are some things that viewers do not know.
It's Being Edited.
What you probably do not know is that the WSOP tournament also gets edited. Of course, ESPN will not want to bore its viewers out of their wits by showing dull and boring hands or poker games that end much too quickly. What they want to show its viewers are exciting hands and rounds of poker that resulted in an exchange of huge amounts of money, thus, the editing.
It's a Huge Advertisement.
Have you noticed that professional poker players, especially those that are really famous, are a type of walking advertisements? No? Well, look closely at the players, especially when the final event comes. During this time, you will probably see most of them wearing shirts containing logos of their respective online poker sites. If not for the money these online poker sites pay them, they probably would not have worn these shirts, some of which are just plain ugly, mind you.
These popular poker players become walking ads the moment the final event comes up because an advertisement is an advertisement after all, and if their fans see them wearing the logo of their respective poker sites, chances are, these fans will follow them online, which means more money for the poker sites, right?
Learn from the Pros
Tournament editing and silent advertisement are just some of the things that happen quietly behind the WSOP tourney, but still, you will get to learn a lot from the pros.
One of the things that you should really learn about when you watch the WSOP is the poker tells. If you look closely enough, you will notice that even the poker pros themselves have poker tells to show. You will notice them by way of their body language or by their facial expressions, and when you learn how to detect the poker tells of the pros, you will find it much easier to detect the poker tells of less-skilled poker players.
