Huck Seed the new Half Millionaire

Huck Seed was the victor in the 64 player National Heads Up Championship by beating a pair of Tens with a pair Kings.  Vanessa Rousso, the latest female poker all-star, held the Tens.  Her score was only a cool quarter of a million for finishing in second place.  Huck Seed has been a familiar face in many big tournaments in recent years.  His WSOP main event win and three other bracelets are testimony to his playing skills   A Montana native who gave up being an Electrical Engineer, an a Graduate of Cal Tech, is one large gambler both in bets and his 6 foot 7 inch frame.  Next time you see him in a TV tournament, watch for the laid back, few words, fellow at the table.  That is his natural style of play and is in sharp contrast to a player like Hellmuth.

Math and poker go together and Huck Seed is another example of the natural combination of the two skills.

Mean while Vanessa is having some kind a run playing poker these days.  She is Gods most dangerous creation, a good-looking woman with brains.  She also is a college player and a Law School student. And they say poker is a game for itinerate gamblers and people without much ability to think.  I guess these two players alone prove that idea is false.

The poker season is heating up and the bigger tournaments are coming out fast and furious.   Every time you read about poker lately it is about a new or continuing tournament that has a terrific first prize.  And to think this game use to be played in back alleys or honky tonks.  Now it is under glaring lights in fancy casino and seen around the world on TV.  Just ask a player like Doyle Brunson how the life of a poker player has changed since he started so many deals ago.

The stage is set for some great action in the WPT and the WSOP this year.  There are several new players that are ready to make the big jump in stardom and some older players who still know a trick or two.  We fans will get to see a lot of good poker and some very bad beats this season.  The stage is set and players who still dream of playing in the big games will be watching and learning how the pros handle the intense play.
