It cannot be helped that there will always be a loud player at a table who will try the patience of his opponents.  Sometimes, this is a part of their strategy to confuse his opponents, and oftentimes, it is their way of hiding their tells.

Now, if you are thinking that being the loud player at your table is a good enough strategy, then here are some valid reasons why keeping your mouth shut is a better one.

Less Talk, Less Mistake

Yes, you are confusing them with all your loud talks, but what if you inadvertently said something that others can use against you?  What if you accidentally gave away some relevant information about the hand that you are holding or about the move that you are going to make?

It also happens that your opponents will talk to you during the game, but you have to know that they are only fishing for information.  You can mislead them with your answers though, but remember that they are not only listening to your answers, but they are also focusing their attention on the way you say it, especially if you are under some stress.  Remember, people tend to do some odd things when they are stressed.

For this reason, it is very important that you keep your mouth shut.  There is no rule in the book that says that you have to answer each question your opponents throw at you.  You can always choose to keep silent because you are not obligated to answer any of their questions.

When to Remain Silent

Less Talk, Less Mistake Yes, you are confusing them with all your loud talks, but what if you inadvertently said something that others can use against you? But, of course, you do not have to be rude and not answer any question, especially if it is not related to .  You can always reply and converse with them as long as it is not related to .  However, once the talk turns to , then it is the best time to keep your mouth shut.
