William Hill Poker has joined in the pushing of the London Pub Poker Tourneys.  This big name online casino and poker name will help to make this London group of Tournaments a bigger event, as it will catch more news cycles.  The fact that William Hill lends its prestige to this local tournament is good news for the small entry fee poker player.

There is a move afoot to make the WSOPE as important as the WSOP.  The argument is that the same players play and it is very difficult to win.  As a traditionalist in life, this seems a little like the Masters golf tournament being compared to any other golf tournament.  Every good golfer that has ever lived wanted to win this tournament.   Every good poker player wants to do the same and win the WSOP.  The standing and the prestige are just not the same.   Sometime in the future, when the WSOPE has acquired some history, it may be spoken of in the same sentence.  It is a little early for this rise in standing, even though it is a great poker event.

As can be seen in the news cycles, the poker events in Europe are steadily rising in public favor.  With some of them now being carried on TV in the states, this rise in popularity will snow ball and grow.  All of this is good for poker image and if the court cases in the USA continue to find that poker is a skill and not gambling, maybe the US players will get out of the US Governments Purgatory.

US players are at a real disadvantage, as they are not allowed to play on some of the best poker sites in the world.

Poker is a skill game as so stated in the latest case that was adjudicated in the state of Colorado   Now if the South Carolina Case follows this obvious train of the thought, maybe the US Congress will address this matter and also gain some needed revenue from the online poker casinos.  Poker players should be vocal to this limitation on their playing freedom and help to right this wayward thinking that poker is not a game of skill.  Let the narrow thinking jurisdictions keep their views on gaming and free the players in the US to follow their own path.  PPA and several congressional leaders are all for repealing the limitations on the poker player in the USA.  This limitation should follow the same destiny that prohibition came to.
