It seems like more problems or lawsuits, to be frank, are being thrown Full Tilt's way as two poker players have filed a lawsuit against one of the most popular online poker site in the Web. Not only did they file a case against the online poker room, but they have also included some of the big names in the poker world, stating that these poker pros have played a part in the illegal doings of the said site.
Bot or Not?
The problem started when Full Tilt confiscated $80,000 from the accounts of Lary Kennedy and Greg Omotoy, patrons of the said online poker room.
The online poker room claims that these two used bots to increase their winnings, especially since they have noticed that the playing style of Kennedy and Omotoy were very similar to that of a bot. Further investigations done by their site experts confirmed their suspicion, so the online poker room took possession of the players' accounts and confiscated their money. Furthermore, Full Tilt also claims that one of the two players has created another account at FTP, which is breaking the rules of the site's multi-accounting policy.
Of course, Kennedy and Omotoy denied this accusation and have filed a lawsuit against Full Tilt at the Los Angeles County Superior Court. Not only do they want their money back, but they also threw the accusation of using bots right back at Full Tilt, stating that the site was using bots to fill up the tables, play multiple hands, and control hand results.
The two poker players also claimed that this has not been a solitary event since this also happened to other players wherein the online poker room would confiscate money after accusing the players of using bots to manipulate their games.
Poker Pros Named in the Lawsuit
Aside from filing a lawsuit against Full Tilt, its shareholders — Chris Ferguson, Mike Matusow, Howard Lederer, and Phil Ivey, were also included in the complaint.
The reason behind including its shareholders in the lawsuit is that these four have contributed to the design of the online poker site, and they are playing a huge part in the controlling force behind Full Tilt.
A small change $80,000 would be to Full Tilt, but the site wants to reiterate that it will not tolerate players using bots, and they will exercise full penalties like confiscating the funds and freezing the account if and when a player is caught and proven to be using bots, thus, the Kennedy and Omotoy case.
How this court drama will ultimately play out, we will have to wait and see.
