Just when you thought that you have found the right place to play online poker, the rug was pulled from under your feet and left you staring at the ceiling, wondering what to do next.
This is probably how the clients of Pitbull Poker are feeling right now when the site closed shop and posted a formal announcement as to how their players can cash out their balances.
A Look at the Background of Pitbull Poker's Dilemma
Reports spread that Pitbull Poker is making use of superuser accounts to deceive their clients and take away their money. When the news broke out to the public, the company executives hurriedly closed shop. Of course, Pitbull Poker's CEO was arrested and accused with fraudulent activities.
It is being said that last September 29, during the late hours of the night, owner of Pitbull Poker, Kevin Baronowski, as well as another person only known as Jordan were seen by the employees of the said site to be removing computers from the premises of their headquarters in Costa Rica. Alarmed, the employees called the police, who then arrested both Baronowski and Jordan and charged them with fraud.
After this incident, Pitbull Poker vanished from the online world and ceased to exist, and Dave Brenes, the former manager of the Pitbull Poker Network, stated on October 6 that the site has, indeed, shut down its business. There are some talks though that it is up and running again, but until then, there are no hard facts to support this, although Brenes reiterates that Pitbull Poker is already out of business.
Of course, this angered its players, and they want some legal action to be done to give them their money back. Aside from the angry players, the employees of Pitbull Poker are also after the said site and are filing their own cases against the owner of Pitbull Poker, especially since they were not paid their wages.
The Formal Announcement from Pitbull Poker
Mid-week this week, the newly-defunct Pitbull Poker posted a formal announcement. They admitted that the site is, indeed, now closed and that players can now start cashing out their balances.
Again, there was one thing that caught the attention and earned the anger of its players.
Pitbull Poker is recommending five other gaming sites, two of which were Cake Poker and PokerStars.
Now, this might not mean anything at all, but then again, it could also mean that Pitbull Poker is attempting to raise funds by advertising these other sites through affiliate referrals in the hopes of getting enough cash to pay its angry players and employees.
Although this has not yet been confirmed, but players and employees of Pitbull Poker are scrambling to regain what they have lost, which is very bad news, indeed, for the owners and partners of Pitbull Poker as they face the cases filed against them.
