PokerStars to Sponsor High Heels Poker Tour

PokerStars is sure to make a bigger name for itself by sponsoring the High Heels Poker Tour.  These two should be able to make a wonderful partnership as they promote poker to women who are as competitive as men and as good as men in poker.  As the HHPT loves to say, «This isn't a man's game anymore!»

Watch out for these ladies as they blaze their way in HHPT and make way for them when they begin grabbing prizes in other major poker tournaments dominated by men.

The High Heels Poker Tour

Poker truly is a game that belongs to everybody, and women have as much right to it as men do, so in the year 2007, Lauren Failla, the founder of the HHPT, launched the for-women's-only poker tour.  This tour is aimed at encouraging women to explore their love of poker and to make a big name for themselves in a world dominated mostly by men.

It is not surprising to see women play poker in their homes, be it for fun or for money, and with the proliferation of online casinos, more and more women are getting recognized for their poker skills.  But for Failla, this is not enough.  She launched the HHPT to provide them a venue where they could develop their skills and compete with other women poker pros like Vicky Coren and Vanessa Rousso, especially since HHPT is aiming to create new poker pros like these two women.

One poll says that 25% of poker players are women, and this percentage considerably climbed up during the last five years, proof that more women are, indeed, taking notice of the game and finding their niche in the poker world.  Now, with PokerStars sponsoring the HHPT, who can stop the growth of women poker players?

Creating a Partnership

PokerStars was chosen to be the official sponsor of HHPT for a lot of reasons.  As Failla commented on an interview, PokerStars offers what many women poker players want — a huge variety of games that give them a wide range of options when it comes to low and high buy-in fees as well as sit and go tourneys.  PokerStars also offers simple cash games and serious tournaments in an environment suitable for women where they could truly master the game as they compete with other poker pros, an environment where they could hone their skills, and a major poker event where they could make a name for themselves.
