will again be one of the players seen on along with some other players who are all ways willing to be in the mix for high stakes.  will be there as well as Sam Farha during this season of play.  This is the fifth season of the popular TV show and the word is that the stakes will be even higher this year.  The season will have much bigger pots and there will be some new young players on the show from the Internet and trying to be aggressive against a pro like in a game that he plays as well as any of the players.

A Suggestion for Early Play in a Holdem Tournament

This suggestion works and will get many players deeper into the than if they just sit and wait for a super starting hand.  The suggestion is this play suited connectors even if they are small value cards.  The reason this works is simple.  The blinds early in the are small and unless you are playing -with some all-in maniac, the wagers to see the flop are not very threatening to the starting stake.  If you get lucky with this starting hand you may have the best of it at the end of the hand as a player with Ace King or such will be sucking wind even if he hits one of these cards on the River.  Your two pair, straight or flush may just win you a huge pot.  Another facet of playing this way early is you can play this way several times and fold.  The small loss of chips is nothing compared with the possible big pot this starting hand may capture.  Remember, many players will only play big cards of pairs.   If you are playing these small cards, the flop may hit you perfectly and give you an unbeatable hand at the end of the deal. the , who never saw a starting hand he could not try to play, was the loser in an exhibition fight.  He staged a three round event with his friend who is also a .  The panel of boxing judges awarded the fight to Theo on points.  Both fighters wore boxing headgear to protect their poker brains.  The fight was held in Copenhagen, Denmark and was worth $35,000 to the winner Jorgensen.

All in all this has little to do with poker except these two friends had fun at the expense of some fans who paid $40 dollars to watch the fight.  The next fan proposed fight without headgear should be between some other bad boys of poker.  Some fans would like to see some of these players get their clock rung.

On a more serious and lucrative front, the London Poker Circuit, , has announced that a series of three poker tournaments will be held between March 16th and November 11th, 2009.  These events will be held at three very fine London hotels in Mayfair, Convent Garden and Kensington.   [Read][more...]
