With two sides to every story, especially when it comes to a big accusation like using bots, time and a lot of investigations can only tell which of the two sides is telling the truth.

World Series of Poker Continues to Air on ESPN

ESPN will continue to show the rest of the world the exciting World Series of Poker tournament, the time slot of which is 9:00 p.m. EST on the said channel, and more and more poker fans are watching the WSOP as the number dwindles and the final November Nine battle it out at the felt table.

The Durrrr Challenge

Better Players can be Bluffed

The one rule of poker that new players have a difficult time learning is that it is not a sin to lay down the winning hand after the river card is dealt.  Players who never do this are not yet as good a player as they can be or should be. Good players can be bluffed out of pots and made to lay down a winning hand.  In fact sometimes it is easier to bluff a very good player than it is to bluff the table calling station that never folds a hand.  Good players will replay the betting in their mind and come to a conclusion of whether they think they have the winning hand or not.  If the bluff was carried out right, the good player may well fold a hand that would win.

No less a player than Daniel Negreanu has stated this fact.  His idea is do not do it too often, but never become a calling station all the time.  If this becomes a tendency it will make it harder to book winning sessions.  Players that compute pot odds all the time are given a slight edge in this situation as the odds enter into their calculations about the hand they hold. Why Omaha HiLo is a good players game

Experienced players in Omaha HiLo have a big edge against new players to the game.  Winning hands are far different than what you see in Holdem for example.

A pair of Aces can easily win a Holdem pot.  In Omaha this hand has a far lower chance of winning the pot.  There is a very simple reason for this in Omaha.  Each player starts the hand holding four cards instead of the two you see in Holdem.  Three of a kind is a decent hand unless there are three suited cards in the Flop or one pair.  If this is the case, then it is likely that another player may have a flush or a full house.

Every winning hand in Holdem needs to be better as a rule in Omaha as each player has nine cards to make a hand.  In Holdem there are only seven cards for each player.  If the game is no-limit, you can protect your hand by a large bet, but many players that play Omaha are very willing to gamble on a draw.  Good Holdem players have to reset their way of playing when they are playing Omaha HiLo.  [Read][more...]
