Have you ever heard of the Durrrr Challenge? This is a new poker tournament that is unlike any other since it will involve only two players who are going to play at a heads-up match of No Limit Texas Hold'Em or Pot Limit Omaha. The Durrrr Challenge was issued by Tom «durrrr» Dwan and is open to any player who is willing and skilled enough to go up against Dwan, a man who is said to have never gone broke since he started playing pro poker. Dwan asks that his opponent post $500,000, and he will match it up with a 3:1 ratio, so that increased Dwan's offer to $1,500,000 all in all, should his opponent win against him. A Quick Background on Tom Dwan
Tom Dwann was made famous because of his captivating entrance into the world of poker. With a bankroll that was worth only $50, he added money into it by playing and succeeding at numerous $6 sit and go tournaments. Because he was successful in these tournaments and padded his bankroll with his winnings, he advanced to playing at low-stake cash games. In no time at all, he was playing against high rollers at $500/$1,000 games where his humble $50 bloated into millions of dollars. Today, it has been said that Dwan's total worth when it comes to his poker winnings is a whopping $5,000,000, and he got it from playing poker alone. Dawn is also known as the man who never bankrupted his bankroll.
The Rules of the Durrrr Challenge
As stated above, there are only two playing styles to the Durrrr Challenge, and these are the No Limit Texas Hold'Em and the Pot Limit Omaha. The rules is that of a ring game wherein the player has to play each hand individually, and the tournament will only be concluded when both players, Dwan and his opponent, have played the maximum number of 50,000 hands. When that number has been reached, the player who ends up with the highest stacks of chips wins the battle, even if he only has one dollar more than the other. The stakes are set at a minimum of $200/$400 and will never change during the entire tournament, and the player is only allowed to reload when he is under 75 big blinds.
Open to Anybody
The Durrrr Challenge is open to anybody who has $500,000 as buy-in fee, and right now, the battle is ongoing with Patrik Antonius as the challenger. Other poker pros who have accepted the challenge include Phil Ivey and David Benyamine.
