World Series of Poker at It Again in Horseshoe Casino

The World Series of Poker is at it again in Hammond, Indiana's Horseshoe Casino as they provide a venue where some of the world's best poker players and poker amateurs meet. Old friends will meet old friends once more, and rivals for the title will battle it out again on the felt table. And amidst all these, big prizes will be won and the much coveted seat into the WSOP Championship.
The Variety of Reasons
Upon interviewing the poker players who are participating in the Horseshoe Casino's WSOP, they gave a variety of reasons.
John Waugh, a poker player who came from Oklahoma, admitted that he is there for the thrill and excitement that the tournament provides. He also states that the ever-changing expressions of the poker player as they play amaze him. Kathy Clark of Milwaukee agrees with Waugh when he said that the thrill and excitement of poker brought him to the Horseshoe Casino but adds that she is also there to meet new people. Another professional poker player, Ed Dixon from Detroit, states that the thought of winning extra bucks from doing what he loves to do is enough of a lure for him.
In general, this 10-day poker tournament with a buy-in fee of $345 has already received more than 1,400 participants, which can be said as a record-breaking turnout for the poker circuit.
Economy and Poker
With these many participants in the said event, a big question arises — why play poker when the economy is limping a bit?
The economy is, in fact, one of the main reasons why more and more people have joined the tournament. With a buy-in fee that is only $345, which is admittedly much more affordable than others, a lot of people are hoping to win big amounts of cash in WSOP.
Aside from the huge cash prizes that they can win, some are also hoping to get into the World Series of Poker Championship, which will be held in Las Vegas this coming summer. All in all, there will be 13 tournaments in the WSOP Horseshoe Casino, and only two winners from these tournaments will get a free seat into the Las Vegas WSOP Championship. In fact, this is one of the many lures why the WSOP has seen these many participants this year, and they all have the same goals — to earn millions of dollars from playing a game that they all love.
